Driving Excitement-Take 2

My sweet husband Mark never wanted a new car. He loves the old stuff. He's got an old soul and his old soul loves to drive an old car. Well, the daddy in him has been coming out. He started thinking about having the baby and only one car with seat belts and A/C and emergencies while he's watching the baby and...you can see where this is going.
Here we are again. We were waiting on our salesman Ken to come walking up. And that's him walking next to the Yukon.
This is serious business. Why wasn't I sitting over there? I had my 4th trip to the potty!
We decided to take a break and go to Bono's. Nothing says Saturday like BBQ cheese fries.

They probably look terrible to you at this point, but I'm hungry just looking at this messy plate.

Car was finally finished being detailed. We also had them remove the vinyl pinstripes and dealership sticker...Mark hates them.

Yay for Mark's first new car

He was trying everything out.

He was ready to drive home

city- 13 mpg/hwy-20mpg, good thing we bought it off 9-A.

OK, he thought he was ready to drive home...the weather was terrible that day! He was so excited that he wasn't paying attention to the fact he was in an exit lane.

Can you see him?

I was trying to capture the special moments, but it was quite difficult to do while driving in the rain.

The weather finally cleared up.

So here it is, his rear wheel drive Panther Black 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP, black onyx interior with a beefy 415 horsepower engine. He has put his '49 Pontiac Chieftain for sale.
I'm so happy for Mark! He finally got a new car and he LOVES it! If you need a fast ride, he'll give you the white knuckle grip! Just don't let him get a ticket please!
Now who wants to go to Bono's for BBQ cheese fries?

Diagonal or Down the Middle?

I'm a messy eater! My "love-shelf" shares my meals with me all the time. There's nothing I can do about it. When I lean in, my boobs lead the way and end up getting dirty. At girls camp, if you put your elbows on the table they make you get up and run around the table for being naughty. They called me out last year because my ta-tas were on the table! In fact, on my mission, there was a sweet couple who always had a full sized towel laid out for our Wednesday night dinners. When Mark and I went to visit my mission 3 years ago, we ate with that same couple and they had my towel waiting on me.

In an effort to try and conserve the top portions of my shirts/blouses- I cut my sandwiches. First of all, seeing everything in the middle of the sandwich makes me happy! Second, I feel like I'm helping my severe food dropping by cutting my food. I still cut up my spaghetti like I'm 2(again, hoping it helps). And third, I like somewhere to put my side dish(es) and they look more appetizing with a sandwich holding them on my plate. So when it comes to the types of cuts for me, it depends on the type of sandwich.

Peanut butter and jelly and my good breakfast friend- the egg sandwich (which I'm famous for and my husband HATES) always get cut down the middle. Bagel sandwiches, burgers and anything round get the middle cut by default. Turkey, ham, BLT, cheese (grilled or not), chicken salad, egg salad (different from my breakfast buddy), wraps, ANYTHING else....diagonal cut! And I'm totally serious about those cuts! So, that's me, your local sandwich cutting fool! I haven't even touched on the way I wrap my sandwiches in a paper towel.
Do you cut your sandwiches? Do you have a preference of cut?

It's Time...

...to get registered.
So I'm coming to you, my loyal army of sisters- what do I need? Any particular brand of diapers better than others? What have you tried and loved? What have you hated? What kept you sane? Is there anything that made being a mommy/grandma/auntie/babysitter easier? Something I can't live without, something I could live without but shouldn't or something everyone thinks they need but it turns out to be wasting space/time/money? Any advice? HELP!!! I only have 3.5 months and I'd better get started!

Dreaming at 24.5 Weeks

2 sets of Good news...

#1Little Mark is still Little Mark! They could only get a "junk shot" of him today. He's a little stubborn (probably gets that from his Bulldog sister Cami) so he keeps hiding his face. Maybe we wants to be a total surprise. Which is fine by me too. Jenn (the ultrasound tech) has a fun sense of humor and wanted to point out the obvious. Take a peek at his equipment...we're very proud.

#2 You thought it was cool when Julie Andrews called me? Last night I had a dream that I was riding roller coasters in TN with Dolly Parton!! How fun. I had a great time last night riding roller coasters and singing songs and touring the Great Smoky Mtns with Dolly. Funny thing, she was worried about the market because she wanted to get rid of her house to get a new one. Dolly could do that at any point, she doesn't have to wait for a better market. Anyhow, I love Dolly. She's real! She works 9 to 5 at the chicken ranch, she'll give you some straight talk (hold the chatter please) and she can turn anyone (within reason) into a Rhinestone Cowboy!! Most importantly, she will always love you! I love that she considers herself Classy Trashy- a little bit classy and a whole lot trashy. No wonder I had such a great time in my dream last night. Thanks Dolly for your visit! Can't wait til next time. This picture shows how much fun we had!

I Love Watermelon

I do, I love it! Nothing says summer time or picnic or tasty fun like WATERMELON! I stopped in Lake Butler on my way home from camp and picked up some beauties! I gave one to my Daddy. He always shares his watermelon with me, so I had to share mine with him and I wanted to share that with you!

Girls Camp

I got back from camp yesterday. Wow, it feels great to be home, be clean, bug free and best of all, next to my husband!

This year I managed to keep my voice, make a bunch of new friends (since most of mine either couldn't attend or moved up to the "big leader" cabin), not do as much as usual (that was a promise to my husband and my baby in the womb) and not kill anyone with my "shockers."

Things I missed: of course my husband, my family, my sweet little bulldog Cami, chicken, smelling nice and I missed my camp sisters who couldn't be there. You know who you are! I missed you bunking with me, sneaking in the kitchen with me, going to the lodge to dance with me...you know how we do!

Those new sisters I met...I loved being with you! Can't wait to do it again and hopefully not be pregnant and putting someone else first. Cause then we'll have a REALLY good time! Thank you for sharing all the laughs, stories, food and fun.

Guess what I didn't do? I didn't take one SINGLE picture! Usually I hate camp pictures so I should know better than taking my camera. I know some who took pictures, so I'll have to beg them to send them over and post them.

Camp always reminds me where I found my testimony and all the love and sisterhood that is found out in those woods. And fudgesicles! I have a severe love for those girls. Each year I question why I would do that to myself and then I get my arms around those girls and realize my purpose for being there. Now you know why I go back year after year. Out of the last 18 years, I've only missed 1 year...and that was while I was serving my mission. I know if the Lord needs me there, He will get me there.

P.S. I'm making camp chicken enchiladas soon, if anyone would like to come by for some let me know! We'll make it a party! :)

Driving Excitement

When I met Mark he drove a 1988 Pontiac Bonneville. He told me about his love for the Pontiac brand.

Here's Mark. My classic man driving his classic car. In fact, Mark has never owned anything new. He lives in old cars. This all original 1949 Pontiac Chieftain is his daily driver. He LOVES this car, even though it has no air conditioning!

Mark has found a new love. This is a Pontiac G8 GXP. It is the new love of his life. He's considered it over and over and can't stop thinking about it. So we went to buy it. Multiple times. They just started making it and they also just stopped making it since Pontiac is saying goodbye.

Here he is excited and waiting to sign the paperwork. The interior of the car actually looks like his shirt.

Right after this picture, they came over and showed the figures that had changed, they tried to stick us with a crazy interest rate and we left with no new car. I didn't take any other pictures. I didn't want to upset him anymore. They called us back yesterday to give us a WAY better interest rate, some rebates and restore some confidence in them. We go over again tomorrow to check it out. We'll have to see what happens. I'll take my camera just in case Mark drives home his first new car!

Pinch Me!

Is it June already? I can't believe it! I have 4 months until my baby is due to arrive. I have Girls Camp next week. Father's Day is coming up QUICKLY...and this is the first one Mark gets to celebrate. I'm falling more and more in love with my husband every day. The weather is getting SO hot! I've got Bunco tomorrow, teaching line dances at Enrichment Thursday, a baby shower this Friday, have to be at camp Sunday after church, Ichetucknee next Thursday (I'm counting down for that!), lots of birthdays and births this month. And Nursery was SOOOO good yesterday. Not wild like usual. Wow, I feel like someone should pinch me and wake me up! Hoping to slow down after camp. I have to get Baby Mark's room ready. Whatever will we do with it?
