I can take a Zac Efron (zofran) pill every night before bed and close up ALL exits the next day or I can ignore Zac Efron and have all exits cleared. I think throwing up once in the morning is worth it to keep my freeways clear and traffic moving!
I know, way more than you wanted to know but after this week...I can no longer endorse Zac Efron, he has become a pain in my butt. ;)

Last shot
Here is the cutest profile ever!
So now I ask...does this look like the "Sam Eagle" nose we discussed a few months back?
Any thoughts on who this little guy will look like?
Does he look extra juicy?
Our plan for tomorrow:
1. Call L & D at 6am to see if there is a room for me. (If so, continue to #2)
2. Enter L & D at 6:30 am
3. 7:30 am start induction
4. Get used to people touching and seeing my vagina
5. Dr. will come back during lunch to check on me
6. If no baby by the End of day:
a. baby and I are fine, Dr will take me off meds, let me walk, eat and shower and start again
Wednesday morning at 4:30 am and continue
b. baby and I are not fine- Dr. will slice and dice to get baby out quick
Any guesses on:
His size?
Day/Time he is born?
How many hours I'll labor?
I've been an emotional mess. Mark and I went to church yesterday...last time without a baby. Passed the mothers' room....last time without it actually having a purpose for me (other than being the stinky room). When I go to bed tonight, its the last time Mark and I go to bed in our room without our little guy. We've had 5 wonderful years together and boy has it been fun. I'm so grateful for the time we've been able to get to know each other, laugh, cry and pray together. Now we're going to have a great time full of laughter, crying (loads of that I'm sure), prayers and getting to know the new people we are about to become. I can't wait to share this experience with him and share our little man with you each of you. Thank you for riding with us on this wonderful journey of sentimental feelings. Tomorrow we leave as a couple and later this week we come home as a family! :)

Set the Timer for 11 days
In 11 days I will no longer be walking around with a bun in my oven. Evidently he'll be golden brown (or nice and pink). I'll be checking in to the hospital for my induction. We might have a 22nd, 23rd or 24th baby. He could even really be sweet and show up on the 25th- our 5th anniversary! Hopefully, it won't take from Tuesday to Friday...but whatever it takes to get him here is what I'll do.
So 11 days it is. Mark and I are relieved we have a little more time to prepare for his arrival. I'm super excited I get to put on makeup and fix my hair before I head in! Hooray.

Tell 'Em Large Marge Sent Ya!
We had an ultra sound today!
Questions: Is Little Mark head down?
How big is Little Mark?
Well good news...He's HEAD DOWN!!
The ultra sound tech's name is Jenn. We love her! She's always been good times. Jenn asked "so when is your due date?" I said "supposed to be Oct 5th but last u.s. you said he was about 10 days ahead of schedule." And she said "WHEN?" And Mark repeated Oct 5th to her. I said "why, is it different?" She said "well, looks like he's measuring with a due date of TOMORROW!" I said "WHAT?" You can imagine my surprise right? So I said to her "how much does it look like he weighs?" She said "I'm going to calculate that right now, I'll be back."
So Mark and I sat waiting and waiting and waiting. When Jenn came back, she wouldn't look us in the face. She kept saying "Well, I could be off by a pound, give or take." and things like "Do you know how much I told your sister her baby was to see if I was pretty well on target with her?" I said "No, I don't know anything about that." I said "Are you going to tell us or are you waiting for back up from the Dr?" She said "well, I told Dr. Thirumlai and she said she knew your baby would be big!" At this point, Mark and I are DYING to find out. "Jenn, just tell us!" She said "I'm measuring him at 8 lbs 9 oz!!!" Go ahead, re-read that. 8 lbs 9oz (give or take a pound). All I could do was laugh hysterically! I think everyone in the office heard me laughing. What a SHOCK!
Jenn said she measures large so realistically he's between 7.5 lbs and 8.5 lbs. She would put money on him coming out no less than 8 lbs.
If he was going to be a girl, I'd name her Large Marge! Just like PeeWee!
Tomorrow, we meet with the Dr and and we'll have a better idea of what to expect. I will be glad to share more info with each of you in our super exciting journey of the Little (or not so little) guy getting here.

Close enough I Can Almost Smell the Dirty Diapers
...that's how close He feels!
I have to say, getting pregnant was misery. Wait, let me rephrase that...I loved the practicing part- that part was fun! The emotions of not being pregnant for 3 years, month after month, having people ask if we even wanted children and going through the fertility process. After finding out we both had fertility problems and we kept getting jerked around, we finally quit because it was far too stressful. Then with losing my job and my insurance I was running low on everything, especially hope!
I had 3 experiences last year that led me to believe a baby was close. I was exercising like no one's business (except maybe a personal trainer) last year in my zumba class and was overcome with emotion. I knew what I was doing wasn't just for me, it was for the little spirit waiting for me to be ready for him. I couldn't believe I was crying in zumba. I couldn't even blame it on my eyes sweating. I had to walk out. Then I tried a spinning class. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done. While spinning (not just the bike class, also my head) I wanted to quit so badly but as I was pushing along, I saw a face. A baby's face appeared as if it was there to cheer me on and finish the class. Then towards the end of December I finally started thinking about how Heavenly Father best answers my prayers. No matter what, if I need help finding something He ALWAYS helps me. So I decided to give it a try. I asked that He help me find my baby, regardless of where or how. I pleaded with Him to help me open my eyes, so I wouldn't miss any opportunities. Whether He direct me to a birth mother or a surrogate mother- I would accept His will with gratitude in my heart.
At that point, I knew I did all I could. I spoke to a very close friend and told her how I felt like there was a little boy close by, but I didn't know exactly what "close" was going to mean.
Well...my eyes were opened. As always, HF helped me find what I've been looking for. I have been so fortunate to have a smooth pregnancy. I've been blessed beyond measure. After trying for 3 years, the last 9 months have passed quickly. I've got my bag packed, I just need a few things to put in his bag and a few more things for him at home. I've got so much support and love pouring out from all over. I'm one grateful soon-to-be-Mommy. With a full heart and an always full bladder, I'm officially close! I really feel like I can smell the dirty diapers coming my way. I can't wait.
So, when will the little guy be here? Tomorrow I go in for an ultra sound, they will measure him and we will see if he's head down. If he's still breech, we will schedule a c-section. On the day of the c-section, they will do one more ultra sound to check him again. If he's turned at that point, they will send me home. Either way, we'll have a baby in the next 3 weeks. It feels SO good to be this kind of "CLOSE."

Nursing Bra 101
I consider myself a student of this whole becoming a mommy thing. I look to those of you that already have children as my mentors, instructors and professors.
That being said, I'm stuck. I have quite the situation with nursing bras. I can't go out and try one on. They don't carry my size ANYWHERE. I have tried and not even Bloomers has any solutions. Those little blue haired ladies have always been the ones I turned to for help with my massive gazungas. I have to order them online. I placed an order a while back and it came in and it already doesn't fit.
My size before pregnancy was a 44-H. (Yep, I said it) Right now, I'm pouring out of my H (which my husband doesn't mind at all) and I would say I've possibly gone up a cup or two. What in the world am I going to do once my milk comes in?
I finally found a company that builds nursing bras up to size L. That's right, I said build! Because it takes something well built to keep these things under control.

But now, I have to guess what size I'll be, so I don't waste too much money or time ordering. It's 3-4 weeks for shipping. OUCH!
Ladies, let the guessing begin. We'll have a bra pool to see who can guess what size my milk jugs will be once my milk arrives. Winner receives something clever...not sure what but it will be great. Good luck!

Turkey Anyone?
Little Mark is quite the little butterball turkey! He is 4lbs 7 oz so far. He's in the 70th percentile. I'm measuring a little further along than we thought. Those things together, we might bring in the little guy around Sept 27th. He's just inching his way into our anniversary. I don't mind, as long as he comes safely. Maybe our anniversary will invite him out.

This is what my family classifies as the "blow face prints." It looks like his nose and lips are pressed on some glass.

Another face shot with our little Mark-o-lantern, with his fist

It was so great to see our little man looking at us. His little cheeks were so chubby and cute and ready to be kissed. His lips were also puckered for kisses. I can't wait to get my hands on him. I'm sure he will be primed for cuddling close and lots of smooches. Those thoughts bring so many emotions and so much love into our hearts. We look forward to meeting him soon. But we'd like that little butterball turkey to be a little larger before he makes his grand entrance.
He had his hand balled up over his head as if he was rockin'. Obviously his father's son!
This is his sweet little face. He kinda looks like a Jack-o-lantern in the face shots since his eyes and mouth are blacked out. But he is sideways looks directly at us

2 Months till Mr. Sweetness Arrives
Really, two months? How can I only have 2 months to go? With a due date of Oct 5th...I suppose it has happened. Now is when I should start freaking out, right?
So far, I've only seen nurses at each OB appointment. I go to Dr Hyler's office and he is always delivering a baby, so I can completely understand why I'm seeing nurses. Now I'm on the every 2 week OB appt track. Friday I showed up for my appt, walked in and sat in the office waiting for a nurse to come in. In walked Dr. Thirumlai. She is now with Dr. Hyler. I was so excited to see a Dr for the first time. She pricked my finger, let me know that my sugar is too high and she's labeling me with gestational diabetes. My heart sunk. Somehow, I knew this would happen. She explained to me what I need to be doing and eating and avoiding. I was able to open up and ask questions and get lots of good info from her. Do you know the worst part? I have to check my sugar (prick my finger) 4 times a day and be very cautious with what I eat. Do you know the best part of having gestational diabetes? I get to see my baby a few more times before he gets here! Each week I have to go in, get hooked up to a monitor and they will check his movement. Every 3-4 weeks they will do an ultrasound to check his size and make sure he's not too large or too small. I am reserving the right to eat cake at my baby showers and on my 30th birthday. However, my body belongs to this little man for 2 more months and I want to ensure a smooth delivery. So I have cut out sugary treats and traded them for occasional fruit and lots more veggies. I have to eat every 3 hours (another perk) minimum. Best of all, she cleared me to get back in the gym. She said there is no reason I can't do my zumba classes, just to pace and hydrate myself. Do you know how much I LOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEE zumba? I think this is the butt kicking I needed to keep myself in check. As Olivia Newton John once said, "Let's Get Physical."
Tomorrow or Friday, expect an update with pictures of Little Mark. Maybe even a "Sam Eagle" shot. I'm so excited to see him!

Its Painting Time!
That's right-Saturday we had to get down to business and get Little Mark's room painted. Things are finally starting to come together. We found some really great buys on craigslist (Stacy, you would be proud) and will be picking them up very soon.
Luckily, we had some lots of friends and family offer to help. However, we weren't sure what time we'd get started so we had to wing it!
We went with two shades of blue...but I I like the lighter one way better. Almost enough to repaint the two walls with the darker blue, however I promised Mark I'd wait and see what I think of everything!
Here we are, the excited parents-to-be. I'm showing off my ta-tas that just won't stop growing. I joke that by the end of my pregnancy I won't be able to clap...I think I'm almost there. I can barely reach the steering wheel in my car around these things.

Ravi (who hates to paint) offered up his services and helped move things along really quick.

Yep, here I am breaking the rules. I was painting, on a ladder with my hands over my head. I wanted to be part of the action. At least I wasn't also eating cookie dough, deli meat sandwiches, sushi and snow skiing that day. I do know where to draw the line!

My parents came by. Little Mark's Proud Pappaw (as the future shirt will read) was there helping.

Mom was there to boost morale and boss us around. Sometimes that's just what you need.

This was the last picture we got. My dad had Mark convinced he got paint all over his favorite jersey. Mark was more concerned about getting it all over the house, he claims he didn't care so much about the jersey.

The little guy's room is coming along. Once we get the furniture in there we'll keep showing the progress. We're so excited that we're down to 69 days! Just when we thought it would take forever to get this little miracle here, it really has flown by. I know the last month will probably feel like an eternity of discomfort, but I'm ready. Can't possibly feel as long as 3.5 years of negative results! We can't wait to fill our lives, this room and our home with all the love that this little bundle will bring.

95 days??
Mark and I have a cute little dry erase board that we leave notes on. The most recent note Mark wrote said "Its getting closer to baby time." I've known that eventually, the baby would come. I didn't think the first 6 months would go by so fast. I just noticed my blog baby ticker says I have 95 days. And yesterday at my OB appt, Little Mark was measuring a week ahead of schedule. So basically, I have 3 months or less!! I really need to get the nursery started (that's right, I said started) and get ready to welcome my little man.
That's all, before the pregnancy hormones kick in and I start crying again!

Pinch Me!
Is it June already? I can't believe it! I have 4 months until my baby is due to arrive. I have Girls Camp next week. Father's Day is coming up QUICKLY...and this is the first one Mark gets to celebrate. I'm falling more and more in love with my husband every day. The weather is getting SO hot! I've got Bunco tomorrow, teaching line dances at Enrichment Thursday, a baby shower this Friday, have to be at camp Sunday after church, Ichetucknee next Thursday (I'm counting down for that!), lots of birthdays and births this month. And Nursery was SOOOO good yesterday. Not wild like usual. Wow, I feel like someone should pinch me and wake me up! Hoping to slow down after camp. I have to get Baby Mark's room ready. Whatever will we do with it?

Let the fun begin!
Now that I'm half way...that's right HALF WAY thru my pregnancy...I've been expecting the leg cramps. So guess what I woke up to this morning? A lovely charlie horse in my right leg. All I could do was ask Mark to rub it for me. And of course, he did. He's really sweet. I have to remember to appreciate him more often. Good news for him, these are supposed to stick around until Little Mark gets here. :)
Now if I could just remember to call the chiropractor! I hope my husband still wants to be married to me at the end of this pregnancy! I'm sure eternity is starting to loose its luster.

Ga-Goon, Ga-Goon?
Mark and I just got back from our OB appointment for the month. We finally got to hear this baby's heartbeat. It wasn't exactly like Patrick Swayze promised us (no one puts Baby in a corner). According to Mark, it was more like a little chugging sound. Hopefully this doesn't mean my child will have two left feet. Cause rhythm is pretty important for the child of Dance Machine!
The baby is low and to my left side. I've started feeling the baby's flutters. Some say you can tell what you're having by the heart rate. So I looked it up and it said if your baby's heart rate is over 140 it's a girl and if its under 140 it's a boy. Well, what if the heart rate is 140? I guess it will remain a mystery until next Thursday. Only 7 more days!!! Next week expect a whole lot of fun on this here blog! We'll let you know the sex, show pictures and possibly let you know his or her name!
And now, the real magic is starting...I just sneezed! And you moms know what that means.

Pukey the Bear
My husband is great with nicknames. I'm in my second trimester...my new nickname is "Pukey the Bear" ...I thought I was in the clear but it appears I thought wrong. The nickname says it all. Thanks to my sweet husband who always knows how to make me feel better! At least this is all for a good cause. Can't wait to meet the little bear who has done this to me!
Love,
Pukey (the bear)

Braggin' rights
I know its a bit early to brag, but we can't contain ourselves! Here he or she is...the first pictures of Baby Gentle!
This one shows off the possible "Sam Eagle" I wrote of before.
These are the other two good shots. Hopefully next month (possibly May 7th) I'll be able to post a picture of this baby and their genitals! :) Sounds crude but we all want to know what gender this baby is! We won't tell you what we're hoping for...other than a healthy baby!
Hope you can see our sweet little baby that's growing inside me! We are so excited to kiss this baby's cheeks and welcome them to our family.

Our Journey
Mark and I met 5 years ago online. We were married Sept 25, 2004. We knew we would need some "getting to know you time" before starting our family. Our plan: wait 2 years. Before making it to our 2nd anniversary we decided to start "trying." We never realized trying would really take that much effort! I found out about 3 years ago that I have PCOS. So we knew that might give us some trouble. After 2 years of prayer, hard work, church women asking "when are you going to finally have a baby?" or the extra sensitive "do you even want kids?" we opened up to some options.
May 2008-We finally decided to see the doctor and find out if Mark was contributing to our problems. After a lot of...hmm...interesting (to say the least) tests for both of us, they found we both had fertility issues. Talk about disappointment!
June 2008- To the fertility clinic we went. They wanted to run more tests on me. Blood tests, HSG, patience, just to name a few. The testing was all terrible. Especially testing my patience!
July 2008-Went in to the hospital alone for my HSG. After waiting 3 hours, they were unable to get the catheter thru my cervix. Had to delay for another month (it usually happens like cycle day 10 ).
Aug. 2008-After my brutal evening before my 2nd HSG appt and the day at the hospital for the procedure, I was angry. I felt they didn't give me the info I needed for my safety and what I would really go through physically.
Sept. 2008- They ended up putting me on birth control. At this point, I had lost all faith in them. Our path (that they were planning) seemed to be headed to either In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) or Itrauterine Insemination (IUI). Either way, I knew I needed to be able to trust my Doctor.
After prayer and careful consideration, Mark and I decided to take a break. I couldn't handle much more. The disappointment of infertility is a lot to handle and on top of that the further disappointment in my health care provider was torture! I did take the birth control they prescribed.
Sept 16th-The day before my sister/best friend Cassie's birthday (and her husband Jason's as well) we found out she is pregnant! What a great surprise. Talk about a day of hope! She had been trying to conceive for about 1.5-2 years herself.
Oct. 2008- Mark and I were called into the Nursery at church. We would work with children ages 18 months-3yrs old. Talk about shocked. How could it be us? Our answer was yes but we put in a stipulation. We did not want to have any hard feeling towards the kids or parents due to our lack of fertility. If we started to get the blues or feelings of resentment, we would ask to be released.
Nov. 2008- Lost my job and insurance, which made that my last month on birth control. Will Thanksgiving ever come? I needed to find something to be thankful for!
Dec. 2008-I felt as though there is someone waiting on me. I was prompted to think about how Heavenly Father answers me best. When I look for things, he always helps me open my eyes wider, and look better than before to find whatever I'm looking for. As silly as this seemed, I finally asked Him to help me look in the right places. Maybe I needed to find a birth mother, maybe I needed to adopt another dog (mine is my baby)...whatever His plan, I was on board. So in prayer, I pleaded with the Lord to help me find my baby. Whichever direction I needed to look, if he would guide my eyes, I would keep them open, along with my heart.
Feb 3rd-Terrible acid reflux acting up, add in my weird uterus cramps during the past few nights and I decided to take a pregnancy test. When I pulled them out from under the sink, they were expired, 6 months expired! So I did what any other hopeful girl would do...I took the test. After the shock of seeing the test turn positive. I took it out and showed Mark. I first told him about the expiration and he was not going to believe it. So we said a brief prayer thanking Heavenly Father for the thought of being pregnant. Just a little positive ray of sunshine to the past few negative months. We had the hardest time sleeping that night. At least I did. I finally got out of bed at 4:15am. I had to potty. So off I went and I noticed the other expired pregnancy test. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to take it too. It was garbage either way! It was also positive. After that, I really couldn't sleep! I got on the computer and starting looking up false positives for expired tests. And started to see where we might be setting ourselves up for disappointment.
Feb 4th- After finally falling back to sleep at 7:15am, I woke up at 8, got ready for the shop, stopped at Walgreens to pick up a few tests and off I went. After 3 positives, I showed Mark. He said "I still don't believe it, call the Dr." While speaking with them and telling them I took 5 tests, all positive and we want them to test me. They said "Ms. Gentle, if you took 5 tests, you're pregnant!" What a day. Mark and I were so grateful and shocked and speechless. We called his Grandma first to let her know the wonderful knews, then we slowly started calling the rest of the family. It was a day so full of emotion and hope. Mark brought home a book and a baby rocker outfit for our baby. It was starting to sink in that we're pregnant!
Mar 11th- A sweet friend offered to let us get a sonogram for free! Officially, the best day of our lives. We saw a heart beating and little arms going in and out of its mouth. The baby was officially 10 weeks and 2 days. It was certainly a miracle! When leaving, Mark and I had a chance to talk about our feelings. Mark let me know he saw way more than a baby on the monitor that day. He told me with tears in his eyes that he saw our future of training wheels and hugs and kisses and family pictures and campouts and driving tests and proms. We held hands and cried as we drove back to Mark's shop.
Mar 30th-We had our first OB appointment today. I'm 13 weeks and getting ready to end my first trimester. We lovingly refer to Mark's nose as his "Sam Eagle." We had an ultra sound and it looks like our baby could possibly have a "Sam Eagle" of it's own! :) I would post pictures but you really can't see anything in these pictures we got.
So here we are with no insurance, I don't have a job, and we're thrilled to have a baby coming our way due to be here Oct 6th. Can't wait to share more moments of sentiment with you!
